As the Coronavirus is now in the United States it is having a major impact on events that have the potential of drawing large crowds attending inaugural and annual presentations. Every group or organization that produces these presentations wants to keep their customers and clients free of contacting any disease or illness. At Event Services & Support LLC we feel that there is a lot of misinformation with the hype of “fear” being promoted by media sources. Not to diminish the seriousness of this fast-moving virus, but there is a need for calmness and thought-out solutions and options.
Here are some basic tactics to put into place that will help in minimizing and battling the spread of this virus within your operation:
Frequently wash your hands with soap and hot water. If soap and water are unavailable, use an alcohol-based towelette with at least 60% alcohol.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Review and update policies and procedures affecting your staff members.
Consider modifications and relaxing illness and/or absence policies.
Build flexibility around necessary business travel.
Be aware of travel bans and avoid international travel.
Give consideration to work-from-home requests.
Review business continuity planning and preparedness.
Promote telemedicine options for treatment, if available.
